Correlations
Glass from the MALOU MAJERUS Collection
Malou Majerus looks back on nine years of serious collection activities ranging from antique to contemporary glasses. Although she focuses on contemporary glass, significant motivating factors are the relationships exhibited by objects originating from different places and times: the correlations which open up new perspectives.

The presentation in the SPOT ON room of the Hentrich Glass Museum shows a small section of the Majerus collection and illuminates the history of glass art taking the perspective of the dedicated collector:

‘The artists have discovered how light can be captured in this fragile matter and how it can be diverted. They have created art objects from an inorganic molten product. A variety of colours and forms ornament this remarkable genealogy. Today the roots are so strong that new branches keep emerging, suggesting a promising future of glass art. To unite centuries and countries and to call to life the works of art time and again from this blend – this could be a goal of my collection worth striving for’. ( Malou Majerus)

The exhibition comprises 40 glass objects
